The duo Choro na Manga
In september 2007 the Brazilian mandolinist Marco Ruviaro and the Italian guitarist Fabrizio Forte met for the first time and started to play choro together. After some weekly meetings, they already had a huge repertoire of Brazilian instrumental music with sophisticated arrangements and a personal style. That was the beginning of the duo Choro na Manga.

The most distinctive feature of the duo is the interpretative work that you can notice, not as much in the original compositions, but more in the arrangements of the traditional repertoire. The duo Choro na Manga has always received credits from the public and from the press because of its high musical level.

The instrumental duos are very common in Brazil and mandolin and guitar perfectly complement each others. Today a choro duo is much more than a simple combination of a solo instrument accompanied by another instrument: besides counterpoints, solos exchanges and improvisations, Choro na Manga tries to explore the resources of the two instruments, widening to the full its musical horizons.
