The repertoire of the Choro na Manga concerts is often decided on the spur of the moment, depending on the sensitiveness of the musicians and the interaction with the public. This liberty reflects the spirit and naturalness of the Rodas di Choro.

Besides the original compositions Choro Na Manga’s repertoire is based upon pieces of some contemporary composers and the greatest masters of Choro such as Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, Waldir Azevedo and Ernesto Nazareth, just to mention some of the most important names.

A curiosity…

The funny titles of the pieces are a characteristic of Choro music. They often describe the situation in which the music was composed, sometimes they are a comment or an expression used by someone during a Roda de Choro.
